Privacy
Last changed October 6, 2026. Covers the Grind Theory app and grindtheory.com.
Your account. The app stores your email, username, name, a password hash, and your time zone. Your email is used to sign you in and for password resets. Nothing is sold and no list is rented.
Your check-ins. Every check-in is a video of up to 60 seconds, a thumbnail, an optional caption, and the date. Videos are stored privately and are visible only to the people in the squad that challenge belongs to. There is no public feed. Squad members can react to a check-in, report it, or block you; blocking hides your check-ins from that person.
Your progress. XP, levels and rank are computed from the check-ins you post. People in your squads see your level next to your name.
Reminders. Reminders are scheduled on your phone and never leave it. Turn them off under You.
Usage data. The app and this site use PostHog for product analytics: which screens are used, whether a check-in was posted, whether it failed. No video content is sent to analytics. The site also uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies.
The store. Orders at shop.grindtheory.com are handled by Shopify under Shopify's privacy policy. The email signup box is run by Kit.
Where it lives. App data is stored with Supabase in the United States (Oregon). Analytics data is stored with PostHog in the United States.
Deleting it. In the app, open You, tap the menu, tap Delete account. Your profile, check-ins, videos, reactions and XP are removed. To delete by email instead, write to [email protected] from the address on the account.
Age. The app is not for anyone under 13. If you are under 18, ask a parent before posting videos of yourself to a squad.
Changes. When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
